The invention discloses a synthesis method of diflufenican. The method comprises: (1) carrying out a phosgenation reaction on 2-chloronicotinic acid and phosgene, which are used as raw materials, in the presence of an organic solvent under the action of a catalyst to prepare 2-chloronicotinoyl chloride; (2) carrying out an amination reaction on the 2-chloronicotinoyl chloride and 2,4-difluoroaniline to prepare 2-chloro-3-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridinecarboxamide; and (3) carrying out an etherification reaction on the 2-chloro-3-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridinecarboxamide and m-trifluoromethylphenolto prepare the diflufenican. The method has the advantages of simple process, easy control of operation process conditions, high purity and high yield of the product, and few three wastes.
