The perchlorovinylcarbene adducts of ethylene and propylene served as precursors to a wide spectrum of 1'-substituted cyclopropylacetylenes 4, 8 and 9, which are versatile polyfunctional molecules.E.g., the acetylenic ester 4c underwent cycloaddition to 1,3-dienes giving otherwise unaccessible compounds.
