7α-OXYGENATED LIMONOIDS FROM THE RUTACEAE
Bennett, Raymond D.,Hasegawa, Shin
, p. 2349 - 2354 (1982)
Limonol, deoxylimonol, and 7α-obacunol were isolated from Citrus paradisi seeds.Limonoyl acetate and 7α-obacunol acetate were isolated from fruit of a Citrus-Poncirus hybrid, along with two other new 7α-acetates, 1(10->19) abeo-obacun-9(11)-en-7α-yl acetate and 1(10->19) abeo-7α-acetoxy-10β-hydroxyiso-obacunoic acid 3,10-lactone.The latter two represent a unique limonoid structural type in which a methyl carbon has been inserted into a ring.Key Words Index: Citrus paradisi; Poncirus trifoliata x (Citrus sinensis x C. paradisi); Rutaceae; limonoids; limonol; limonyl acetate, deoxylimonol; 7α-obacunol; 7α-obacunyl acetate; 1(10->19) abeo-7α-acetoxy-10β-hydroxyiso-obacunoic acid 3,10-lactone.

Structurally complex natural products have been a fruitful source for the discovery and development of new drugs. In an effort to construct a compound collection populated by architecturally complex members with unique scaffolds, we have used the natural
