The title chromenoflavone (II), has been synthesised starting from 7-benzyloxy-6-hydroxy-3-methoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxyflavone (III).III on methylation followed by catalytic debenzylation gives 3,6-dimethoxy-7-hydroxy-3',4'-methylenedioxyflavone (V), which on reaction with 2-methyl-2-chlorobut-3-yne furnishes II.
