5,6-Dihydroxy-3,4',8-trimethoxyflavone, which was the proposed structure of the pigment occuring in Conyza stricta, was synthesized from 2,3,5,6-tetramethoxyacetophenone in six steps.The natural pigment was identical not with the synthesized flavone, but
