A number of mixed ligand complexes of Cr(III) with ethylenethiourea (ETU) and 1-substituted tetrazoline-5-thiones such as 1-phenyltetrazoline-5-thione (1PT5TH), 1-(p-chlorophenyl)tetrazoline-5-thione (1p-ClPT5TH) and 1-(p-tolyl)tetrazoline-5-thione (1oTT5TH) have been prepared and characterised on the basis of conductometric, magnetic and spectroscopic studies.In these complexes ethylenethiourea is coordinated through sulphur but 1-substituted tetrazoline-5-thiones are coordinated through sulphur as well as nitrogen.All the complexes are distorted octahedral.
