A series of ring-substituted N,N'-diphenyltetramethylcyclodisilazanes have been prepared and the parent cyclodisilazane (I) has been used as starting compound for an unequivocal synthesis of N,N',N''-triphenylhexamethylcyclotrisilazane (III).
