Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 84713-43-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,4,7,1 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 84713-43:
(7*8)+(6*4)+(5*7)+(4*1)+(3*3)+(2*4)+(1*3)=139
139 % 10 = 9
So 84713-43-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Two Epimeric Dibromo Nitriles from the Australian Sponge Aplysina laevis
Capon, Robert J.,MacLeod, John K.
, p. 341 - 346 (2007/10/02)
Two dibromo nitriles, (1' R,5' S,6' S)-2-(3',5'-dibromo-1',6'-dihydroxy-4'-oxocyclohex-2'-enyl)acetonitrile (5) and the (1' R,5' R,6' S) epimer (6), possessing antimicrobial activity, have been isolated from the sponge Aplysina laevis (Carter).Cometabolites (+)-aeroplysinin-1 (1) and the dibromo ketone (2) were also identified.Structures (5) and (6) were assigned on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and synthesis from (1).
