Oxidation of the dihydrobenzoxazine-2-carboxylic acid derivatives 1,2,10, and 11 with 3-chloroperbenzoic acid and subsequent reaction with acetic anhydride lead to the expected dehydration products as well as the C-6-substituted compounds 6,7,9, and 14-16.Under various reaction temperatures and pH values characteristic mixtures of products are obtained.
