This invention relates to dihydropyridine compounds of formula: (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, clathrate, or prodrug thereof wherein A2, R12, R13, R14, R15, R16, R17, R18, R19, R20, R21, R22, and m are defined herein, and compositions comprising such compounds. The invention also relates to methods of preventing or treating metabolic disorders, such as diabetes mellitus, and conditions and complications associated with diabetes mellitus, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a compound of formula (I) or a composition comprising such a compound.
