The highly reactive complexes (?-C5H5)(CO)3MoX (X=FBF3, FSbF5) react with (?-C5H5)(CO)3MoCH3, (?-C5H5)(CO)2FeCH3 or (?-C5H5)(CO)2FeCOCH3 and cis-, trans-Ph3P(CO)4MnCH3 to give 2-η2-CH3CO)Mo(CO)2(?-C5H5)>+ BF4- (I), + SbF6- (II) and + BF4- (II), respectively.The X-ray structure of I has been determined.It shows a symmetrical acetyl bridge of the type .
