A number of ethyl 3-aryl-2H-1,4-benzoxazine-6-acetates (4a-c) and -6-α-methylacetates (4d-f) 3-aryl-2H-1,4-benzoxazine-6-acetic acids (5a-c) and -6-α-methylacetic acids (5d-f) and methyl 4-(6-chloro- and -6-nitro-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3-yl)phenylacetates (6 and 7) have been synthesized and evaluated for their antiinflammatory and other CNS activities.
