A new trisaccharide, ornose (1), has been isolated from the dried twigs of Orthenthera viminea (Family: Asclepiadaceae).On The basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, the structure of 1 has been established as O-α-L-cymaropyranosyl-(1->4)-O-α-L-cymaropyranosyl-(1->4)-β-L-cymaropyranose.
