The invention discloses a preparation method of 7-bromo-6-chlorobenzo[D]isoxazole. The method comprises the following steps: reacting 2-bromo-3-chlorophenol used as an initial raw material with paraformaldehyde to prepare 3-bromo-4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde; reacting the 3-bromo-4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to prepare 3-bromo-4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde oxime; and carrying out a ring closing reaction on the 3-bromo-4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde oxime to prepare the 7-bromo-6-chlorobenzo[D]isoxazole. The method has the advantages of simplicity, easiness in operation, easily-available and cheap raw materials, high product yield and high practicality.
