The total syntheses of isoxazolo-derivatives (steroid-type compounds) derived from the tricyclic ketones, 2H-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-5-methyl-8-phenyl-1-thiopyranobenzofuran and 2H,5H-4-oxo-5-methyl-3,4-dihydroindenothiopyran are described.
