α-(Pyridyl)benzylhydrazide of benzilic acid is a complex organic compound that can be described as a derivative of benzilic acid, where one of the hydroxyl groups is replaced by a hydrazide group attached to a benzyl moiety. This benzyl group is further substituted with a pyridyl ring, which introduces a nitrogen-containing aromatic system. The compound is characterized by its potential applications in medicinal chemistry, particularly as a building block for the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Its structure provides a platform for further functionalization and modification, making it a versatile intermediate in the development of new compounds with specific biological activities.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 87267-94-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,7,2,6 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 87267-94:
(7*8)+(6*7)+(5*2)+(4*6)+(3*7)+(2*9)+(1*4)=175
175 % 10 = 5
So 87267-94-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

(3-(PYRIDYL)METHYLIDENE)- AND α-(3-PYRIDYL)ARALKYLHYDRAZIDES OF DISUBSTITUTED GLYCOLIC ACIDS

Avdeev, V. B.,Berdinskii, I. S.,Belykh, Z. D.,Rozenblat, G. F.

, p. 1056 - 1059 (2007/10/02)

(3-Pyridyl)methylidenehydrazides of disubstituted glycolic acids were obtained by the reaction of ethylidenehydrazides of disubstituted glycolic acids with 3-formylpyridine. α-(3-Pyridyl)aralkylhydrazides of disubstituted glycolic acids were obtained by the reaction of the ethyl ester of (3-pyridyl)methylidenehydrazide of oxalic acid or (3-pyridyl)methylidenehydrazides of disubstituted glycolic acids with phenyllithium and alkylmagnesium halides.A correlation was carried out between the pKa values of the compounds obtained and the Taft γ* constants.
