Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 872715-05-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 8,7,2,7,1 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 872715-05:
(8*8)+(7*7)+(6*2)+(5*7)+(4*1)+(3*5)+(2*0)+(1*5)=184
184 % 10 = 4
So 872715-05-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

This Letter describes the synthetic routes to challenging pyridyl analogues of 2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin- 6-carbaldehyde which were key intermediates for our antibacterial medicinal chemistry programme. All routes described started from kojic acid (8) and have been used to give multigram quantities of each aldehyde.
