Copper(II) dithio derivatives, CuX2 have been stabilised in the presence of aliphatic and heterocyclic amines.While ethylenediamine (en) and propylenediamine (pn) give only 1:2 complexes, diethylenetriamine (dien) and triethylenetetramine (trien) form both 1:1 and 1:2 complexes.Imidazole (imi) forms 1:6 complexes whereas 2,2'-bipyridil and o-phenanthroline form 1:3 complexes.ESR and electronic spectral data have revealed that all the complexes have a tetragonally distorted symmetry.
