88-90-4 Usage
General Description
2,6-Dinitrotoluene-4-sulfonic acid is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C7H6N2O7S. It is a derivative of toluene that contains two nitro groups and a sulfonic acid group. 2,6-DINITROTOLUENE-4-SULFONIC ACID is used in the production of dyes, pigments, and as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals. It is also a potential degradation product of certain pesticides and herbicides. 2,6-Dinitrotoluene-4-sulfonic acid is a yellow to orange solid that is soluble in water and other polar solvents. It is important to handle this chemical with care as it may be harmful if ingested or inhaled, and can cause irritation to the skin and eyes.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 88-90-4 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 8 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 88-90:
(4*8)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*0)=74
74 % 10 = 4
So 88-90-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Transformation processes of nitroaromatic compounds (NAC) lead to polar and highly hydrophilic metabolites. For the unequivocal identification of proposed metabolites reference substances are needed. Since most of them are not commercially available, their synthesis was done in our group. In many cases no satisfying synthesis schemes were found in the literature. In this communication, we therefore describe the preparation, structural elucidation and separation of 17 compounds. Many of the newly synthesized analytes were found in various water samples from a former ammunition plant.
