Complexes of UO2(VI), VO(IV), TiO(IV), ZrO(IV) and HfO(IV) with 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazole (HAFT), 4-benzylidene-amino-5-mercapto-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazole (HBFT) 4-salicylidene-amino-5-mercapto-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazole (H2SFT) have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility and spectral (electronic and infrared) date.The ligands HAFT and HBFT act as NS(1-) bidentate chelating agents whereas H2SFT acts as NS(1-)O(1-) tridentate chelating agent.
