Reaction between Ru3(CO)12 and Ph2PCH2SiMe2H affords the symmetrical bridged diruthenium complex Me2)2(CO)6> in which Ru-Ru = 3.056(1) Angstroem; treatment of this dimer with CF3CO2H leads to formation of a mononuclear phosphinomethyldimethylsilanol complex H)(CO)2(CO2CF3)2*Et2O> in which Ru-OSi = 2.19 Angstroem, δ(OH) = 12.12, and the solvating Et2O molecule is H-bonded to the silanol-O with O ...O 2.64 Angstroem.
