Explanation
The molecular formula represents the number of atoms of each element present in a molecule of the compound.
Explanation
Diazoxide is the common name or trade name for 1,2-Benzenediol, 4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-, which is used for easier identification and reference.
Explanation
The compound belongs to the benzene family, which is a group of organic compounds containing a benzene ring as a central structure.
4. Contains a tetrazole group
Explanation
The compound has a tetrazole group, which is a five-membered heterocyclic ring containing four nitrogen atoms, attached to the benzene ring.
Explanation
As a vasodilator, the compound helps in widening blood vessels, allowing for easier blood flow.
6. Anti-hypertensive properties
Explanation
The compound is known to have properties that help lower blood pressure by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels.
Explanation
The compound works by causing the muscles in the blood vessels to relax, which in turn allows for easier blood flow and decreased blood pressure.
Explanation
The compound is typically administered through oral intake or injection to treat various medical conditions.
Explanation
The compound is used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, certain types of heart failure, and hypoglycemia due to its vasodilator and anti-hypertensive properties.
Explanation
Research is being conducted to explore the potential use of the compound in the treatment of diabetes and certain types of cancer, although it is not yet a standard treatment for these conditions.
Family

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 91759-56-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,1,7,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 91759-56:
(7*9)+(6*1)+(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*6)=167
167 % 10 = 7
So 91759-56-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of 5-Aryl-2H-tetrazoles, 5-Aryl-2H-tetrazole-2-acetic Acids, and acetic Acids as Possible Superoxide Scavengers and Antiinflammatory Agents
Maxwell, James R.,Wasdahl, Dan A.,Wolfson, Alan C.,Stenberg, Virgil I.
, p. 1565 - 1570 (2007/10/02)
A series of 5-aryl-2H-tetrazoles, 5-aryl-2H-tetrazole-2-acetic acids, and acetic acids were synthesized and tested in vitro for superoxide scavenging activity, in vivo in the carrageenan-induced rat paw edema assay, and in the reverse passive Arthus reaction. The hydroxy-substituted compounds were effective as in vitro scavengers of superoxide but were not effective as in vivo antiinflammatory agents.
