4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanone is used as a key intermediate for the preparation of dispiro-1,2,4-trioxolanes, which exhibit antimalarial activities. These dispiro compounds have the potential to treat malaria, a life-threatening disease caused by Plasmodium parasites.
Additionally, 4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanone is used as a starting material for the synthesis of aminopyrimidines, which act as spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) inhibitors.
