Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:1-(2-chloroacetyl)indolin-2-one is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of N-[4-[[(Z)-(1,2-Dihydro-2-oxo-3H-indol-3-ylidene)phenylmethyl]amino]phenyl]-N,4-dimethyl-1-piperazineacetamide (D452513), a potent inhibitor of MELK. 1-(2-chloroacetyl)indolin-2-one has been studied for its ability to inhibit the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein Mcl-1 and TNBC cell growth, making it a potential candidate for cancer treatment.
Additionally, 1-(2-chloroacetyl)indolin-2-one is used in the synthesis of Intedanib (I666650), an antitumor agent.
