A radical synthon: Nucleophilic (phenylthio)difluoromethylation of (R)-N-(tert-butylsulfinyl)imines with 1, a difluoromethylene radical anion equivalent, afforded the corresponding products in good yields and with high diastereoselectivity (d.r. ≥ 98:2).
