Synthesis, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Indolyl-Thiazolo [4,3-b)]-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-amines and its schiff's bases

Several 2-amino thiazolo [4,3-b]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (3) were prepared from 1-[2-(2,5-disubstituted-1H-indol-3-yl)-4-oxothiazolidin-3-yl] thiourea (2) by intramolecular cyclization. Compounds 3 on condensation with various aryl aldehydes gave respective Schiff s bases (4). The structures of these compounds were confimied by their elemental analysis and spectral studies. Compounds 3 and 4 were screened for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.

Several 5-(2', 5'-disubstituted 1H- indol-3'-yl)-5H-thiazolo[4,3-b]l,2,4- triazoles (5) -1,3,4-thiadiazoles (6) and 1,3,4-oxadiazoles (7) and their analogues were synthesized. These compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity.
