Cyclocondensation of ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate (4) with aminopyrazoles (5, 10, 11, 18) occurs differently from analogous reactions with ethyl acetoacetate, ethyl benzoylacetate and pyridoylacetate.The main product of the reaction of ester 4 with 5-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrazole (5) in ethanol unexpectedly appeared to be compound 9.The same reaction in benzene led to formation of substance 6.Compounds 6 and 9 undergo transformations to corresponding pyrazolopyridine 8 when heated in Dowtherm A or acetic acid.In the case of the reaction of aminopyrazoles 10 and 11 with ester 4, mixture of compounds 12 and 14 as well as amides 13 and 15 were formed, respectively.Finally, the reaction of 18 with 4 in ethanol afforded amine 19 and in acetic acid pyrazolopyrimidine 20.The structure of the compounds obtained were deduced from their spectral data (IR, MS, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 19F NMR) and some chemical transformations.
