Formation of a Disiloxirane in the Oxidation of 1,2-Dimesityl-1,2-di-t-butyldisilaethylene
Michalczyk, Michael J.,West, Robert,Michl, Josef
, p. 1525 - 1526 (1984)
Reaction of trans-1,2-di-t-butyl-1,2-dimesityldisilaethylene in solution with dioxygen at -78 deg C produces the disiloxirane (7) and a compound believed to be the 1,2-disiladioxetane (8a); the latter compound rearranges quantitatively to the known 1,3-cyclodisiloxane (5) above 0 deg C.
The Reaction of Tetramesityldisilene with Cyclohexene Oxide and Cyclohexene Sulfide
Mangette, John E.,Powell, Douglas R.,West, Robert
, p. 1348 - 1349 (2007/10/02)
Reaction of tetramesityldisilene, 1, with cyclohexene oxide in benzene at 80 deg C gives silyl enol ether, 2, as the major product along with the products of epoxide deoxygenation, cyclohexene and the known tetramesityldisilaoxirane, 3; reaction of 1 with
THREE-, FOUR- AND FIVE-MEMBERED RINGS FROM DISILENES
West, Robert,Gillette, Gregory R.,Yokelson, H. B.,Millevolte, A. J.
, p. 3 - 14 (2007/10/02)
Disilenes, R2Si=SiR2, react with many substances to produce cyclic compounds containing two silicon atoms and one or more heteroatoms. Most of these products are new ring systems, and some show abnormal structures with short Si-Si bonds, suggesting unusual chemical bonding.
Disilathiiranes: Synthesis and Crystal Structure
West, Robert,Young, Douglas J. De,Haller, Kenneth J.
, p. 4942 - 4946 (2007/10/02)
Reaction of elemental sulfur with disilene 1 or 2 produces respectively disilathiirane 1,1,2,2-tetramesityl-disilathiirane (3) or 1,2-di-tert-butyl-1,2-dimesityl-1,2-disilathiirane (4).The crystal structure of 3 is reported; this molecule has a short Si-S
