The reaction of two conjugated dienols, 1α,3α-dihydroxycholesta-4,6-diene and 3β-hydroxycholesta-4,6-diene with m-chloroperbenzoic acid was studied.The only products are 4,7-dihydroxy-5-ene 7-chlorobenzoate derivatives.The formation of these compounds is discussed.
