Biocatalytic Desymmetrizations of Pentitol Derivatives
Burgess, Kevin,Henderson, Ian
, p. 5701 - 5704 (2007/10/02)
Several acylations of pentitol derivatives mediated by Candida cylindracea have been shown to be enantio-, or diastereo-, group selective; a pattern emerges from the selectivities of these reactions which may have some predictive value.Key words: acylation; catalysis; Candida cylindracea lipase; kinetic amplification of diastereomeric excess
SYNTHESIS OF METHYL (-)-SHIKIMATE FROM D-XYLOSE
Suami, Tetsuo,Tadano, Kin-ichi,Ueno, Yoshihide,Iimura, Youichi
, p. 37 - 40 (2007/10/02)
Natural methyl (-)-shikimate has been synthesized from D-lyxose, employing a double carbon-carbon bond formation of 2,3,4-tri-O-benzyl-5-O-mesyl-D-lyxose with a dianion of dimethyl malonate as a key reaction.
