4-Methyl-5-phenoxy-5,6-dihydropyrans were synthesized by the reaction of 3,4-dibromo-4-methyltetrahydropyran with a number of substituted phenols.The products are converted to the corresponding phenols under the conditions of the Claisen rearrangement.
