- A highly efficient version of the palladium-catalyzed arylation of alkenes with aryl bromides. Spencer, Alwyn (Cent. Res. Lab., CIBA-GEIGY A.-G., Basel CH-4002, Switz.). J. Organomet. Chem., 258(1), 101-8 (English) 1983. CODEN: JORCAI. ISSN: 0022-328X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 22 (Physical Organic Chemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 23, 25 The Pd complex-catalyzed arylation of alkenes with aryl bromides or iodides proceeds in high yields at very low Pd concn. when carried out in a suitable strongly polar solvent with a carboxylate anion as base. The preferred combination is DMF with NaOAc. 6952-59-6 and 100-42-5 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. The reaction is markedly dependent on the substituents in the aryl bromide, being favored by electron-withdrawing groups. Turnover nos. up to 134,000 are achieved. .
- Retention of some phenyl-substituted and bicyclic hydrocarbons on graphitized carbon black
- Retention of some phenyl-substituted and bicyclic hydrocarbons on graphitized carbon black. Kalashnikova, E. V.; Kiselev, A. V.; Shcherbakova, K. D. (Chem. Dep., M. V. Lomonosov State Univ., Moscow 117234, USSR). Chromatographia, 17(10), 521-5 (English) 1983. CODEN: CHRGB7. ISSN: 0009-5893. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 22 (Physical Organic Chemistry) Retention vols. for zero sample size (Henry's consts.) at different temps., retention indexes and differential adsorption heats of styrene, PhCYCH, C9-C12 phenylcyclanes, Ph2C:CH2, trans-PhCH:CHPh, PhCYCPh, bicyclohexyl and dicyclohexylmethane were detd. on graphitized thermal C black (GTCB). All these hydrocarbon mols. are capable of internal rotation. The values of the thermodn. adsorption characteristics of phenylcyclanes increase with the no. of C atoms in the ring. Bicyclohexyl is retained on GTCB to a weaker extent than biphenyl, while bicyclohexylmethane is retained more strongly than Ph2CH2. Sym. and nonsym. diphenylethylenes are retained more strongly than the corresponding diphenylethanes. trans-PhCH:CHR (R = H, Ph) are more strongly retained on GTCB than PhCYCR (same R). The relationship between the structure of these mols. and their retention on GTCB was discussed.Except for chemicals metioned above, 501-65-5 and 100-42-5 are also used. .
