The other vulcanizing agent p-quinonedioxime (II) [105-11-3] is combustible and forms explosive mixts. with air, and in a dust form adsorbs O and is highly electrified (max. potential 4000 V). I is toxic, cumulative, and its recommended max. permissible concn. is 0.7 mg/m3. Because of its high toxic properties, the skin and respiratory organs need to be protected. II is a blood poison and decreases the blood erythrocytes. Its LD50 in rats was 1.42 g/kg.
