- Aromatic polyamide-polyimide block copolymers with improved moldability. (Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals, Inc., Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 58154729 A2 14 Sep 1983 Showa, 9 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: C08G073-14; C08L079-08. APPLICATION: JP 82-37240 11 Mar 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) Section cross-reference(s): 35 The title polymers are prepd. by (1) reaction of a mixt. of 32 arom. diamines with arom. dicarboxylic acid dihalides to give arom. polyamides, (2) reaction of a mixt. of 32 arom. diamines with arom. tetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides to give arom. polyamic acids, (3) mutual reaction of the products of (1) and (2) to given an arom. polyamide-polyamic acid block copolymer, and (4) imidation of the product. Thus, 1.154 mol isophthaloyl chloride was added portionwise to a mixt. of 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane and m-phenylenediamine (0.635 mol each) in AcNMe2 at 5°, and 2.42 mol propylene oxide dild. 52303-23-8 and 88667-01-0 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. with AcNMe2 was added and the mixt. kept at 10°. Similarly reacted were 3,3',4,4'-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid dianhydride 0.815, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane 0.35, and m-phenylenediamine 0.35 mol in AcNMe2. The products were made to react with each other to obtain a suspension of polyamide-polyamic acid block copolymer, which was modified by imidation with 2.45 mol Ac2O [108-24-7] and 0.0815 mol b-picoline [108-99-6]. The final product [52303-23-8] showed excellent mech. properties and heat resistance when molded. .
