The principal degrdn. products were 2-oxazolidone-3-ethanol [3356-88-5], N,N,N'-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine [60487-26-5], and 1,4-piperazinediethanol [122-96-3]. At <170° and CO2 concns. >0.2 g/g I, the formation of these products involves three 1st-order reactions, the rate consts. for which are given as a function of temp. The implications of these data for gas plant operation are discussed. Activated C is ineffective in removing the principal degrdn. products.
