Thus, 50 lb of block I pellets was mixed with 50 lb powd. kaolin [1332-58-7] clay for 5 min at 200.degree., and the mixt. was cooled and ground into chips having particle size 0.25 in. The chips (5%) were blended with 10% low-d. polyethylene [9002-88-4], and the blend was extruded into films and sealed on the ends. The samples exhibited impact strength (ASTM D 1709) 17% (nip roll) and 0% (seal) failure. .

The pattern was withdrawn with a 0.5-cm-thick shell which was dried 4 hr at 30.degree., flash-dewaxed 30 sec at 1000.degree., and fired 20 min at 800.degree. to give a mold. A compn. made up with Molochite 120 (packing d. 50.7%) in place of Molochite 50/80 was dry and did not form an acceptable coating on the pattern. .
