DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) An assay for cortisol 17-butyrate (I) [13609-67-1] in blood is described in which there is no cross-reaction with endogeneous corticosteroids at levels encountered normally in man. Cortisol 17-butyrate-3-anti-(O-carboxymethyl)oxime [89802-98-2] was prepd., conjugated to bovine serum albumin, and used to raise antibodies in rabbits. Cortisol [50-23-7] and I levels in blood remained elevated for 324 h after treatment with I in human volunteers. .

Taehan P'ibukwa Hakhoe Chapchi, 15(2), 115-22 (English) 1977. CODEN: TPKCAW. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) The percutaneous absorption of hydrocortisone [50-23-7], triamcinolone acetonide [76-25-5], fluocinolone acetonide [67-73-2], betamethasone 17-valerate [2152-44-5], beclomethasone dipropionate [5534-09-8] and hydrocortisone 17-butyrate [13609-67-1] from creams and ointments was demonstrated autoradiog. Hydrocortisone and betamethasone 17-valerate were absorbed into the skin via transfollicular and transepidermal routes, while the remaining 4 corticosteroids were absorbed mostly via a transfollicular route in normal human skin. The systemic effects of 4 corticosteroid prepns.; 17.alpha.-desoxymethasone [382-67-2] 17-valerate and flumethasone pivalate [2002-29-1], applied to normal and pathol. skin were investigated. Whole body application of the corticosteroids with or without occlusive dressing to diseased skin induced systemic effects assocd. with pituitary-adrenal suppression.
