PhP(CH2CN)2 was similarly obtained in 50% yield from PhP(SiMe3)2 and P(CH2CN)3 in 10% yield from P(SiMe3)3. Oxidn. of PhP(CH2CN)2 with NO2 gave 70% PhP(O)(CH2CN)2. P(CH2CN)3 similarly gave 90% P(O)(CH2CN)3 with H2O2. .

The GaP nanowires were synthesized in hexane at 500° and 37 MPa starting from (tBu)3Ga and P(SiMe3)3 in the presence of dodecanethiol-stabilized Au nanocrystals. The microstructure and compn. of the samples were characterized by XRD, HRSEM, EDS, and HRTEM. The role of the Au nanocrystal dispersion during the prepn. was investigated by varying the synthesis conditions. The Au nanocrystals serve as the primary metal seeds and are necessary to produce high-quality nanowires with const. diams. .
