For example, a slurry was prepd. by combining oleic acid [112-80-1], CH2Cl2, ZnO, hydroxypropyl cellulose and a copolymer, Cantrez [25153-40-6]. The thickened slurry was spread on a Leno gauze carrier. Then a cast formed by dipping the rolled bandage in H2O and wrapping it around a mandrel, set in 5 min and hardened within 24 h. The compressive force necessary to give 0.15 inch deformation was 1070 g/g of bandage.
