- Identification of labetalol precipitate
- Identification of labetalol precipitate. Alam, Abu S.Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 36894-69-6 and 144-55-8 are also used. (Am. Critical Care, McGaw Park, IL 60085, USA). Am. J. Hosp. Pharm., 41(1), 74 (English) 1984. CODEN: AJHPA9. ISSN: 0002-9289. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) A polemic in response to P.-H.C. Yuen, et al. (ibid. 1983, 40, 1007-9). The compatibility study of labetalol-HCl [32780-64-6] with i.v. solns. could have been made in the large-vol. parenteral containers to take into consideration any packaging component interactions. The ppt. that formed in the mixt. with 5% NaHCO3 injection was probably labetalol [36894-69-6] free base, which is nonionized and less sol. at pH 7.6-8, that of the injection. .
- Effects of labetalol and propranolol on histamine-induced bronchoconstriction in normal subjects
- Effects of labetalol and propranolol on histamine-induced bronchoconstriction in normal subjects. Maconochie, J. G.; Woodings, E. P.; Richards, D. A. (Med. Dep., Allen and Hanburys Res. Ltd., Hertfordshire, Engl.). Br. J. Clin. Pharmacol., 4(2), 157-62 (English) 1977. CODEN: BCPHBM. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) The effects of oral propranolol [525-66-6] (80 mg), labetalol (I) [32780-64-6] (400 mg), and placebo on blood pressure, pulse rate, and FEV1 (forced expiratory vol. in 1 s) at rest and after inhaled histamine acid phosphate [51-74-1] were compared in six healthy male volunteers. At 90 and 120 min after ingestion, propranolol decreased the pulse rate and decreased the blood pressure. At 120 min propranolol decreased resting FEV1 and enhanced the fall in FEV1 after histamine, whereas the alterations in FEV1 after I did not differ from placebo. These findings suggest that I is less likely than propranolol to cause bronchoconstriction in asthmatic patients.
