DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Based on knockdown concn. values, the toxicity of pyrethroid aerosols to female A. quadrimaculatus adults was in the decreasing order: synergized RU 11679 [22431-62-5], d-trans-resmethrin [28434-01-7], synergized d-trans-resmethrin, synergized permethrin [52645-53-1], RU 11679, synergized phenothrin [26002-80-2], synergized d-trans-allethrin [28434-00-6], permethrin, d-phenothrin, and d-trans-allethrin. All the pyrethroids were more toxic than malathion, used as a std. The expts. were carried out in a wind tunnel. Against P. columbiae, the order of toxicity was: NRDC 161 [52918-63-5], NRDC 156 [52820-00-5], d-cis-permethrin [54774-45-7], d-trans-permethrin [51877-74-8], and permethrin. The synergist was piperonyl butoxide [51-03-6], added at a 1:5 ratio.
