Seasonal changes in the excretion of components of calculi and sediments. Nottle, M. C. (Anim. Health Lab., West. Aust. Dep. Agric., South Perth, Aust.). Aust. J. Agric. Res., 27(6), 867-71 (English) 1976. CODEN: AJAEA9. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Components of urinary calculi and sediments were analyzed from early July to late October in 6 sheep grazing on pasture with estrogenic Trifolium subterraneum. Levels of these components were lowest in July-August and reached their peaks during the later months. The detected ranges for formononetin [485-72-3] were 0.3-2.7 mg %, for equol [531-95-3] 4-108 mg %, 4-O-methylequol [61514-94-1] traces to 39 mg %. Also detected throughout the exptl. period were urolithin A [1143-70-0], urolithin B [1139-83-9], indirubin [479-41-4], and indigotin [482-89-3]. Biochanin A [491-80-5] was detected only in September-October. .

- Isolation and identification of "diazepam-like" compounds from bovine urine. Luk, Kin Chun; Stern, Lorraine; Weigele, Manfred; O'Brien, Robert A.; Spirt, Nena (Chem. Res. Dep., Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc., Nutley, NJ, USA). J.Some commonly used reagents like 439-14-5 is used in this experiment. Nat. Prod., 46(6), 852-61 (English) 1983. CODEN: JNPRDF. ISSN: 0163-3864. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 27 Putative endogenous ligands for the benzodiazepine receptor were isolated from bovine urine. These included 3 isoflavans which had activity like that of diazepam [439-14-5] in a receptor-binding assay: equol (I) [531-95-3], dl-3',7-dihydroxyisoflavan [89019-82-9], and dl-4'-hydroxy-7-methoxyisoflavan [89019-86-3]. Another compd., 3-chloro-9H-carbazole (II) [2732-25-4], enhanced the binding of diazepam in the receptor assay. Pinosylvin monomethyl ether [35302-70-6], indigo [482-89-3], and indirubin [479-41-4] were isolated as inactive compds. Prepns. for many of the compds. isolated are described. .
