Some of their cas registry numbers are 24650-42-8 and 79-41-4 In use, the materials are mixed and placed; essentially no curing takes place until a high-lumen light source cures the surface layer rapidly, which holds the material in place, while the slower peroxide curing the hardens the deeper layers. The final cured material is more uniform and adheres better. A powder contained: Ba glass 29.82, Li Al silicate 67.30, flinch silica 1.22, TiO2 0.02, Bz2O2 [94-36-0] 0.15, g-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane 0.47, and HOAc 0.02%. A liq. contained ethoxylated bisphenol A dimethacrylate 91.50, 2-isopropylthioxanthone [5495-84-1] 0.17, and Et 4-dimethylaminobenzoate [10287-53-3] 8.33%. Just before use, 2.5-3 parts powder and 1 part liq. are mixed for ~20 s and applied within 5 min. The filling will set in <30 s under a dental curing light or in ~20 min without a light. .

Primary yellowing is caused by photo-products from initiator residues. This yellowing decreases during storage in darkness. Permanent yellowing is caused by photodegrdn. of the resin used. This photodegrdn. is sensitized by I. Photocuring in the presence of oxygen leads to a rapid surface oxidn. Photooxidn. studies with ESCA, IR reflection and transmission spectroscopy show that the oxidn. occurs mainly in a thin surface layer. In a surface layer ~10-nm-thick, oxidn. is almost complete after ageing 24-48 h.
