- Determination of the capping tendency of pharmaceutical active ingredients and excipients. Jetzer, W.; Leuenberger, H. (Pharm. Inst., Univ. Basel, Basel CH-4051, Switz.). Pharm. Acta Helv., 59(1), 2-7 (German) 1984. CODEN: PAHEAA.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 68-89-3 and 63-42-3 may be metioned in this study. ISSN: 0031-6865. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Prediction of the tendency for a pharmaceutical ingredient to cause capping and/or lamination in tableting is possible by calcg. the ratio of Brinell hardness (deformation resistance) to tensile strength of the compact. Brinell hardness describes the local plasticity of the material and tensile strength describes the inherent strength of the compact. The ratio changes slightly as a function of applied pressure and shows a discontinuity when the capping starts. Graphs of tensile strength vs. Brinell hardness are given for aspirin [50-78-2], caffeine [58-08-2], mannitol [69-65-8], metamizole [68-89-3], paracetamol [103-90-2], lactose [63-42-3], and CaHPO4.2H2O. .

- Sarcoplasmic reticulum of Duchenne muscular dystrophy: a study on skinned muscle fiber. Takagi, Akio (Natl. Cent. Nerv., Ment., Muscular Disord., Kodaira 187, Japan). Neuromuscular Dis., [Proc. Int. Congr.], 5th, Meeting Date 1982, 123-5. Edited by: Serratrice, Georges. Raven: New York, N. Y. (English) 1984.There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 7440-70-2 and 58-08-2 in this article. CODEN: 50WTAU. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 14 (Mammalian Pathological Biochemistry) Expts. on skinned muscle fibers showed that Ca2+ uptake by the sarcoplasmic reticulum from children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy was not different from that of age-matched controls. The sensitivity of the dystrophic reticulum to caffeine-induced contractions was slightly increased. .
