- Adsorption of heteropolar collectors by sulfide minerals and precious metals. Leonov, S. B.; Baranov, A. N. (Irkutsk. Politekh. Inst., Irkutsk, USSR). Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Tsvetn. Metall., (6), 8-13 (Russian) 1977. CODEN: IVUTAK. ISSN: 0021-3438. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) Section cross-reference(s): 72 Electrochem. studies were undertaken to det. the interaction of sulfhydryl flotation collectors with Pt, Au, and galena. The sorption energies were detd. on a Pt-coated electrode for K amyl xanthate (I) [2720-73-2], K Bu xanthate (II) [871-58-9], K Et xanthate (III) [140-89-6], Na dithiophosphate dibutyl ether (IV) [36245-44-0], and Na diethyl dithiocarbamate (V) [18869-61-9]. The adsorption capacity increases in the sequence IV < III < II < V < I and decreases in the sequence Pt-Au-galena. A correlation was established between the adsorption of the sulfhydryl collector on galena and its flotability.

Bunseki Kagaku, 27(2), 104-8 (Japanese) 1978. CODEN: BNSKAK. ISSN: 0525-1931. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 60 (Sewage and Wastes) Cu2+ was concd. from effluents by the foam sepn. technique. The water sample was adjusted to pH 9, then 0.5% K Bu xanthate [871-58-9] and 0.075% cetyltrimethylammonium bromide [57-09-0] were added. A ~100% Cu2+ recovery was obtained from 2 ′ 10-8 g/mL solns. The foam subsided every 30 min in the receiver which contained 0.1 mL BuOH. Cu content was monitored by at. absorption spectrometry.
