CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: B32B027-04. ICA: C08J005-24. APPLICATION: JP 82-63694 15 Apr 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 38 (Plastics Fabrication and Uses) Section cross-reference(s): 43, 76 A cellulosic sheet laminate with high fire resistance as well as high heat and impact resistance and punching quality is prepd. from a solventless thermosetting resin compn. comprising (A) a (meth)acrylic acid-modified Br-contg. epoxy resin 100, (B) an unsatd. polyester with mol. wt. 300-5000/double bond 20-120, (C) other monomers 30-150, and (D) a fire retardant 0-40 parts, with Br content 15-30% (based on the total wt.), of which 8-16% is derived from the epoxy resin. The resin, having a heat-distortion temp. of 20-90° when cured, is used to impregnate a cellulosic sheet pretreated with an A-stage amino resin. Thus, a mixt. of Epiclon 153 (epoxy equiv. wt. 395, Br content 49.1%) 395, hydroquinone 0.1, Et3N 2.0, styrene 200, and acrylic acid 72 parts was heated to 90-100° for 11 h to give a brominated epoxy acrylate [89493-00-5] (acid value 4.2) contg. 87915-81-9 and 54032-96-1 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. 30% styrene. N-Methylolacrylamide [924-42-5]-pretreated kraft paper was impregnated with the epoxy acrylate (contg. 1 phr 55% Me Et ketone peroxide soln. and 0.1 phr 8% Co octenoate soln.) 100, a polyester [68422-68-4] from :36.5: maleic anhydride-phthalic anhydride-adipic acid-propylene glycol-dipropylene glycol (mol. wt. 410/double bond, acid value 27) 60, styrene 80, and Ph3PO4 15 parts. Then, 6 paper prepregs were placed between polyester films and cured at 100° for 1 h to give a fire-resistant laminate (thickness 1.6 mm) passing the UL 94 V-0 flame test and exhibiting water absorption 0.45 (JIS C 6481) after 24 h immersion in water at 23°, falling-ball impact resistance (55-g ball) 34 cm, with no blistering after 30 min at 220° and good punching quality (ASTM D 617). .

Am. 41222-33-7 and 79-41-4 which are cas registry numbers are also used here. Dyest. Rep., 73(1), 35-8, 43 (English) 1984. CODEN: ADREAI. ISSN: 0002-8266. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 40 (Textiles) Section cross-reference(s): 35 Electron-beam grafting of Fyrol-76 [41222-33-7] and N-methylolacrylamide [924-42-5] on cotton or cotton-polyester textiles increased flame resistance; the retardants were still present after 4-h boiling. Methacrylic acid [79-41-4] was grafted on textiles for increased soil release, but very few CO2H groups were introduced. Hydrolysis of acrylamide [79-06-1]-grafted textiles increased their CO2H content and improved soil release. .
