2,3-Dibromopropene Uses

2,3-Dibromopropene (513-31-5) is used in the synthesis of organic intermediate.

2,3-Dibromopropene Production

Heating 1,2,3-3 bromopropane and solid sodium hydroxide until boiling, then distillating the product. The distillate contains 2,3-dibromo-propene and unreacted 1,2,3-3 bromopropane. It is reduced pressure distillation after washing and we should collect 95 °C (10kPa) distillate to have re-fractionation. Then collecting 73-76 °C (10kPa) distillate again to have fraction, we can obtain 2,3-Dibromopropene (513-31-5) .
