A rapid, efficient, economical, and easy-to-scale method for the effective conversion of carbamates to corresponding N,N-dichlorocarbamates by using sodium hypochlorite in acidic medium has been described. N,N-Dichlorocarbamates were obtained in quantitative yield through a simple workup in reduced reaction time.

N, N-Dichlorourethane has been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, NMR. Efficiency of this compound as decontaminant has been evaluated by the reaction of O, S-diethyl methyl phosphonothiolate (OSDEMP), a simulant of VX at RT. The decontamination reaction has been monitored by gas chromatography (GC) and the products have been identified by GC-MS.
Copper-promoted iodovinylation of amides: synthesis of β-functionalized enamides

We studied the addition of nitrogen radicals to ynol ethers in order to form β-functionalized enamides. Poor yields are reported. On the other hand, we observed that copper coupling between 1,2-diiodoethene and various amides leads to β-functionalized enamides in high yields with complete stereocontrol.

A general process for the functionalization at the 14- position of 13-ketobaccatin derivatives of formula I to give derivatives of formula II wherein the substituents are as defined in the disclosure. The conversion of compounds of formula II in compounds of formula III, wherein the substituents are as defined in the disclosure, is also described.
