Synthesis and characterization of luminescent zinc(II) complexes with a N,N-bidentate 1-pyridylimidazo[1,5-a]pyridine ligand

, p. 214 - 220 (2015)
Ligand 2-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-yl)phenol (L) has been reacted in a 2:1 molar ratio with different Zn(Y)2nH2O salts, where Y represents a polyatomic anion (Y = ClO4-, NO3-, BF4-, PF6-). The X-ray structural analysis performed on two of the derivatives obtained, namely [Zn(L)2(ClO4)](ClO4)·H2O (1) and [Zn(L)2(CH3CN)2](BF4)2 (6), proves that as expected ligand L binds in a N,N-bidentate mode via the pyridine ring (Npy) and the pyridine-like nitrogen of the imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine skeleton (Nim). A spectroscopic investigation (including infrared, elemental analysis, 1H and 31P NMR, thermogravimetric analysis) has been performed on these species, allowing complete characterizations. A preliminary survey on their photophysical properties in the solid state was carried out: the complexes showing intense luminescence when excited with UV light (λexc = 421-469 nm) with λmax of emission in the blue-green range (468-500 nm) and moderate absolute photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs).
Difluorobis(pentafluoroethyl)phosphoranide: A Promising Building Block for Phosphoranidometal Complexes

Despite the fact that different metal tetrafluorophosphoranides, M[PF4] (M = Cs, Ag, K), decompose readily, we successfully enhanced the stability of such species by the replacement of two fluorine atoms with electron withdrawing pentafluoroethyl groups. Thus, AgF adds to P(C2F5)2F, yielding Ag[P(C2F5)2F2], which served as a starting material for the synthesis of mono-, bis-, and tris[difluorobis(pentafluoroethyl)phosphoranido]silver complexes. Addition of 2,2′-bipyridine allowed for the isolation of stable [Ag(bipy){P(C2F5)2F2}], whereas the reaction with the chlorides [NMe4]Cl and CoCl2 afforded the bis- and trisphosphoranidoargentates [NMe4][Ag{P(C2F5)2F2}2(OEt2)] and [Co(NCMe)6][Ag{P(C2F5)2F2}3]·2MeCN, respectively. Altogether, the difluorobis(pentafluoroethyl)phosphoranido moiety serves as a novel, small, noncyclic phosphoranido ligand. It provided access to the first homoleptic phosphoranidometal complex, [Co(NCMe)6][Ag{P(C2F5)2F2}3]·2MeCN, which itself features the unusual structural motif of an [AgX3]2- ion.

Paragraph 0054, (2018/05/08)
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously manufacturing fluorinated hydrocarbon (3). SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing fluorinated hydrocarbon represented by the formula (3), including contacting a secondary or tertiary ether compound represented by the formula (1) and acid fluoride represented by the formula (2) in the presence of a silver salt in a hydrocarbon solvent. R1 and R2 are each independently a C1 to 3 alkyl group, R1 and R2 may bind to form a ring structure, R3 is H, a methyl group or an ethyl group, R4 and R5 are each independently a methyl group or an ethyl group.
