The invention provides a preparation method of N-methyl monoethanolamine. Under the action of a supported Cu catalyst, formaldehyde, ammonia gas and ethanol react, the product is separated through vacuum distillation, and the used supported Cu catalyst is prepared from a Cu-containing compound, a ligand and a carrier. According to the catalyst, amino acid is adopted as a ligand, N and O in the amino acid are complexed with copper, the activity of an active component is improved, complexation with formaldehyde and ammonia gas is avoided, an intermediate for an addition reaction of the ammonia gas and the formaldehyde is efficiently catalyzed to generate a coupling reaction with ethanol, and the supported Cu catalyst is not prone to loss. And a secondary addition reaction in an ethylene oxide method is avoided.

Cyclodehydration of available N-alkylethanolamines with aldehydes and simultaneous or subsequent quaternization afford functionalized quaternary ammonium salts of N-nitroimidazolidine, oxazolidine and annulated bismorpholine type. Further replacement of their anions with residues of explosive acids provides a series of energyintensive quaternary salts with a rich hydrogen content possessing satisfactory energy characteristics and sufficiently high thermal stability.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lignin derivative with a controlled structure in producing the lignin derivative having two or more organic compounds introduced to lignin. SOLUTION: A method for producing a lignin derivative has a first step for the reaction between lignin and an organic compound, and a second step for the reaction between a reaction product of the first step and an organic compound different from the organic compound of the first step, where one of the first step and second step is conducted under an acidic condition and the other of them is conducted under an alkaline condition.
